Collect Maintenance by Raast QR — Free, Straight Into Your Own Bank Account

Residents scan a QR with the banking app they already use, the amount fills itself in, and the money lands in your account. No merchant account, no payment gateway, no integration, no fees. Then management verifies each payment in one place before the bill is marked paid.

In most housing societies in Pakistan, online maintenance payments work like this: the treasurer shares an account number in a WhatsApp group, residents transfer whatever they think they owe, screenshots arrive in private chats at midnight, and at the end of the month someone tries to match bank alerts against a spreadsheet. Payments get missed, amounts don't match, and residents who paid get chased anyway.

Nizam now handles the whole thing end to end: Raast QR payments for residents, and a Payment Verifications screen for management.

Completely Free, Into Your Own Account

Most "online payment" solutions for societies mean signing up with a payment gateway, opening a merchant account, waiting for approval, and giving up a percentage of every payment. This feature needs none of that:

  • No merchant account and no payment gateway. The QR is generated from your bank account number (IBAN). That's all it needs.
  • No integration. There's nothing to connect to your bank and no API keys. Add your IBAN in Nizam's settings and residents can start paying.
  • Any Pakistani IBAN works, including a society account, a management company's account, or a treasurer's personal account.
  • No fees from Nizam. It's included in every Nizam plan at no extra cost, with no commission and no per-payment charge.
  • Nizam never touches the money. It goes directly from the resident's bank to yours.

How Residents Pay

Residents open My Bills in the Nizam app. At the top they see their total dues across every unpaid bill, with a Pay Now button. They can pay everything at once or tap Pay Now on a single bill.

  1. Choose how to pay: online transfer, or cash at the management office.
  2. Scan the Raast QR. The resident opens their banking or wallet app, scans the code, and your account details and the exact amount fill in automatically. No typing a 24-character IBAN, no wrong amounts.
  3. Paying from the same phone? One tap saves the QR to the gallery, so the resident can choose it with their bank app's "scan from gallery" option.
  4. Prefer a manual transfer? A "Bank details" tab shows the account title, bank, IBAN and account number, each with a copy button.
  5. Upload the screenshot. After paying, the resident uploads the transaction screenshot (required), optionally adds the bank's transaction ID and a note, and submits.

Every submission gets its own short reference, like NZM-7K4Q2X, which both sides can quote if they need to talk about that payment.

What Raast QR Actually Is

Raast is Pakistan's instant payment system, run by the State Bank of Pakistan. Money sent through Raast arrives in seconds, around the clock. A Raast QR code holds the receiving account and the amount in a standard format that Raast-enabled apps can read.

Each QR in Nizam is generated fresh for the exact amount due, penalties included, and carries the Nizam logo so residents know it came from their society's app. It works with these banks and wallets:

  • Banks: HBL, UBL, MCB Bank, Meezan Bank, Allied Bank, Bank Alfalah, Bank Al Habib, Askari Bank, Faysal Bank, National Bank of Pakistan, Standard Chartered, HabibMetro, JS Bank, Soneri Bank, BankIslami, Dubai Islamic Bank, Bank of Punjab, Al Baraka.
  • Wallets: Easypaisa, JazzCash, NayaPay, Zindigi, HBL Konnect, UPaisa, Alfa.
The QR fills in the account and the amount. The screenshot proves the payment. Management's confirmation makes it official.

How Management Verifies Payments

Every submission lands in a new Payment Verifications screen (in the side menu, under More, and on Payment Collections), and the people who handle collections get a notification.

  • Three tabs (To verify, Confirmed, Rejected) with live counts, plus search by unit, name, phone or reference, and filters by date range and payment method.
  • One screen per payment: the screenshot, amount, Raast QR or bank transfer, the bills it covers, the reference and the resident's note.
  • Confirm once you've checked the money in your bank. You can adjust the amount actually received and add your own reference and remarks. The payment is recorded against the bills, oldest first, with a receipt, and anything paid above what's owed goes to the unit's advance wallet.
  • Reject with a reason if the money didn't arrive or something doesn't match. The resident sees the reason and can submit again.

Until a payment is confirmed, the bill stays unpaid and still counts in dues. It's flagged Verification pending on the Maintenance, Outstanding Dues, Rental and Additional Collection screens, so nobody chases a resident who has already paid. Residents get a notification either way.

The Details That Matter

  • Pakistan only, by design. The Raast QR appears only for complexes in Pakistan with a valid IBAN on file. Everywhere else, residents get bank details and the same screenshot-and-verify flow.
  • Every phone's screenshots work, including HEIC photos from Samsung phones and iPhones.
  • No double-paying by accident. Once a bill has a payment awaiting verification, its Pay button is replaced by its status.
  • Permissions are separate. Viewing payment submissions and confirming them are two permissions, given automatically to anyone who could already collect bills.

Raast QR payments and Payment Verifications are live now for every complex on Nizam. Read more about maintenance billing and housing society management, or start a free month today.
